Alejandra Rios
Team Member
M.Sc. Landscape Architecture, M.Sc. Urban Planning, B.Sc. Architecture
Work focus: landscape design, competitions, open space concepts and participation.
As a second Master, Alejandra studied the European Master in Landscape Architecture at three different universities: Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Edinburgh School of Art & Landscape Architecture and École Nationale Supérieure de Paysage. She completed her first Master’s degree in urban planning and her Bachelor’s degree in architecture in Mexico. Alejandra gained her first practical experience as an associate in an architecture and landscape architecture firm. Later, she managed various architectural and open space projects as a partner in her own studio in Mexico City.
She has been part of the gruppe F team since September 2022. Alejandra works on competitions, open space concepts and other projects in the design phase and accompanies participatory planning processes.

Alicia Härtel
Student Assistant
Cand. M.Sc. Urban and Regional Planning, B.Eng. Landscape Architecture
Work focus: Climate adaptation, participation
Alicia has been studying urban and regional planning in the Master’s programme at the Technische Universität Berlin since 2022 with a work focus on redevelopment and integrated urban development. She completed her bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture with a stronger focus on environmental planning at the Berliner Hochschule für Technik. In her thesis, she dealt with measures for urban climate adaptation in the context of large-scale projects, such as fast cycle connections.
During her studies, Alicia gained practical experience in an environmental planning office in the field of participation and renewable energies. She attended trainings on environmental impact assessment and stormwater management.
Since 2023, Alicia has been part of gruppe F, where she supports the team in climate adaptation and participation projects.

Dr. Andreas Kurths
Team Member, Steering Committee
PhD Open Space Planning, M.Sc. Landscape Architecture, Landscape Architect (AKBB #18518)
Work focus: assessments, strategies and concepts, research projects
Andreas studied Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning and completed his master’s in landscape architecture at the Technische Universität Berlin. From 2017 to 2020 he took part in the International Doctoral College Spatial Research Lab. His associated research led to his doctoral thesis “Network-Borne Open Spaces – An Open Space Type of Digital Modern Space Production”.
Since 2011 Andreas is part of the gruppe F team and is responsible for assessments, concepts, strategy development and research projects. He wrote several articles in professional journals on topics such as “Digital Support for Green Space Maintenance”, “Climate Resilience” or “Green Infrastructure”.
In October 2023, Andreas took over the Chair of Landscape Architecture and Open Space Planning at the Technical University of Berlin as a visiting professor. There he is involved in research and teaching on issues relating to the design of open space and landscape in the Anthropocene. Andreas is still active in various projects in the office and exchanges knowledge and experience between university and practice.

Anna Mattes

Work focus: Landscape planning, concepts
Anna studied Geography at the University of Bonn and completed their M.Eng. in Urban Plant and Open Space Management at the Berliner Hochschule für Technik. As part of their thesis, Anna explored the influences of human-environment relations on the transformations and challenges of urban space. Thematically, Anna has mainly focused their work on environmental justice and socially sustainable adaption to the challenges of climate change.
Anna has been supporting gruppe F in landscape planning since August 2022.

Anne Mann

Work focus: Competition management, participation, concepts
Anne studied landscape architecture at the Berlin University of Applied Sciences. Her bachelor’s thesis focussed on the topic of fear in public open spaces. She is currently completing her master’s degree in landscape architecture at the Technical University of Berlin. She spent her semester abroad at the MATE University in Budapest.
Anne worked for several years as a student assistant in the competition department of a landscape architecture office, where she worked on the design of various open spaces.
Anne has been part of gruppe F since 2023, where she supports the team in competition management and participatory processes.

Annika Weseloh
Team member
M.A. Urban Future, B.A. Cultural Studies
Work focus: participation, co-creation, public relations
Annika studied Cultural Studies and Business Administration at Leuphana University Lüneburg and completed her M.A. in Urban Future at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam. She also spent a semester abroad in Hong Kong. Thematically and methodologically, Annika has mainly worked on futurology, transformation management and the resilience of urban spaces.
Annika gained experience in co-creation and the participation of stakeholders as a research assistant at the Fraunhofer Center for Responsible Research and Innovation as well as during her Design Thinking training at the Hasso Plattner Institute.
Since 2023, Annika has been part of gruppe F, where she supports the team in outreach and participation.

Prof. Dr. Antje Backhaus
Managing Director, Steering Committee
PhD Landscape Architect, Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Landscape Management and Nature Conservation
Work focus: climate change adaptation, green infrastructure, urban water management, landscape planning
Antje Backhaus studied at the University of Applied Sciences for Sustainable Development Eberswalde (HNEE) and has worked for gruppe F for many years.
From 2008 to 2018, she was an Assistant Professor at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark with a focus on research and teaching in the fields of stormwater usage and urban climate adaptation. In 2012, she was awarded the Peter Stahre Scholarship for research excellence in the field of stormwater management for her doctoral thesis Urban Stormwater Management – Values and Design.
Antje collaborated on university research projects such as 2BG (Black, Blue and Green), which systematically recorded decoupling potential in Copenhagen, and WGA (Water Sensitive Cities in Africa), which aimed to establish sustainable rainwater infrastructure in the cities of Addis Ababa in Ethiopia, and Dar es Salaam in Tanzania. In addition, she designed and delivered various university courses and lectures. She also supervised numerous bachelor, master and doctoral theses.
Since 2013, Antje has been a joint owner of gruppe F and works on a diverse range of projects in the fields of stormwater management, large-scale concepts, landscape architecture and participation. She also gives lectures and is a competition judge.
In October 2022, Antje took over the professorship for Green Technologies in Landscape Architecture at the University of Hannover. There she deals with the different aspects of urban climate adaptation in research and teaching. In the office, Antje continues to be active in various projects, bridging the gap between university and practice.

Bettina Walther
Team Member, Steering Committee
M.A. Empirical Policy and Social Research, B.A. Sociology
Work focus: participation, moderation, mediation
Bettina studied Sociology at the Heidelberg University and completed her master’s degree in Empirical Political and Social Research at the University of Stuttgart. She spent a semester abroad in Luleå, Sweden. Her final thesis dealt with the key success factors in participation processes.
Bettina supervised her first participation processes during an internship at the Bürgerstiftung civic trust in Stuttgart. She later gained a qualification in Round Table Management at the Breuninger Foundation and has participated in numerous training courses relating to the participation of specific target groups. Bettina is also a certified mediator (ZMediatAusbV).
Bettina joined the gruppe F team in 2015 and is responsible for the conception and implementation of participation procedures and moderation as well as mediation. She has published several articles on civic participation in specialist journals and platforms. Since 2017, she has been teaching an annual course on communication and participation at the University of Potsdam.

Brigitta Enyedi
Team member
M.Sc. Geography – Climate and Environmental Change, B.Sc. Geography
Work focus: Landscape planning, open space concepts, biodiversity
Brigitta studied her Bachelor and Master at the Friedrich-Schiller-Universität in Jena and specialised in biodiversity and environmental protection. She spent several terms abroad in Budapest and in the Arava Desert in Israel. As part of her Bachelor’s thesis, Brigitta investigated climate and environmental changes in the Altai Mountains in Mongolia. In cooperation with the Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry, she researched the effect of forest clearings on microbiological parameters and biodiversity on experimental plots in the Hainich, Thuringia, in her Master’s thesis.
In addition to her studies, Brigitta gained experience in research institutions, environmental associations and in a landscape planning office. Following her studies, she worked as a network planner in an engineering company for fibre optic expansion. Since 2023, Brigitta has been part of gruppe F, where she supports the team in landscape planning.

Ceren Tosun Arnet

Work focus: Participation, public relations, concepts, site planning
Ceren studied urban and regional planning at the Middle East Technical University in Ankara and completed her master’s degree in spatial planning at the Technical University of Dortmund. In her thesis, she focussed on participatory urban planning and bottom-up processes in urban spatial development. Through internships and working in planning offices in Ankara, Dortmund, and Berlin, she gained experience in the fields of participation, public relations, urban development concepts and urban design.
Ceren has been part of gruppe F since 2023, where she supports the team at the intersection of participation, public relations, concepts, and site planning.

Christine Schwemmer

M.Sc. Environment Information, B.Sc. Landscape Architecture
Work focus: strategies and concepts, environmental assessment, landscape planning
Christine studied Landscape Architecture and then gained a master’s degree in Environmental Information – GIS at Beuth University of Applied Sciences. She completed internships in gardening and landscaping at planning offices and at the Federal Ministry for the Environment.
Since 2015, Christine has been part of the gruppe F team and is responsible for competition supervision, expert reports and landscape planning.

Eike Sebode
Team Member
Cand. M.Sc. Geoecology, B.Sc. Geography
Work focus: GIS applications, data processing with R and Python
Eike completed his apprenticeship as a retail salesman in 2016 and added a bachelor’s degree in Geography in Göttingen. After completing his bachelor’s degree in 2019, he started a master’s degree in geoecology at the University of Potsdam.
During his studies, he gained various experiences in the field of remediation of contaminated sites, analytical methods for the determination of soil properties as well as the evaluation and assessment of urban greening projects through internships and as a research assistant.Since 2023, Eike has been part of gruppe F, where he supports the team in landscape planning as well as in the evaluation and visualisation of geodata.

Elisabeth studied Landscape and Open Space Planning at Leibniz University, Hanover. She completed a semester abroad and an internship at an environmental protection organisation in Ljubljana, Slovenia. After her studies, she worked as a freelancer in the field of environmental education.
Elisabeth joined the gruppe F team in 2020 and is responsible for open space concepts, landscape planning and managing participation procedures.

Eva Lange

Eva studied Landscape Architecture at the Technische Universität Dresden. She spent one year at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna. As a research assistant at the Institute of Landscape Architecture in Dresden, she worked on an urban planning study and supported teaching activities. During and after her studies, she worked for various landscape architecture offices and as a freelancer in landscape architecture in Berlin.

Eva gained her bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture at Weihenstephan Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences and completed a master’s in Urban Design at HafenCity University in Hamburg. She also spent a semester abroad in Vienna, Austria. Her final thesis dealt with the social and open space structures of Vienna’s Brunnenmarkt. Eva has gained a wide range of practical experience through internships and working in landscape architecture and urban planning offices in Munich and Hamburg.

Gabriele Pütz
Managing Director, Steering Committee
Dipl.-Ing. Landscape Architecture (BDLA, SRL)
Work focus: open space concepts, project management, moderation, landscape planning
Gabriele studied Landscape Planning at the Technische Universität Berlin. After completing her studies, she worked for eco-plan, landscape planning office in Leer, East Friesland. In 1992 she became a founding member of gruppe F landscape architects, which she has been managing with partners ever since. She became one of the four managing directors of Freiraum für alle GmbH in 2020.
Gabriele is a member of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Chamber of Architects, the SRL and BDLA German landscape architect associations, and is an appointed member of the Berlin Expert Advisory Council for Nature Conservation and Landscape Management. She was a lecturer at the Technische Universität Berlin (Landscape Aesthetics) and the University of Applied Sciences Dresden (Project Management). Since 2017, she has taught a communication and participation seminar at the University of Potsdam. Gabriele is also a guest lecturer, publishes in professional journals and judges planning competitions.
Her work focuses on strategic open space development and urban development concepts. She also manages interdisciplinary teams in the field of green infrastructure and is involved in moderating participation processes.

Gerd Kleyhauer

Work focus: project planning, participation, concepts, competition management
After graduating from high school, Gerd completed an apprenticeship as a bank clerk. He then studied Landscape Planning at the Technische Universität Berlin. During his studies, he worked for various landscape architecture agencies and gained experience in site planning and design.
After graduating, Gerd joined gruppe F in 1998. In 2010 he became a partner together with ThoMi Bauermeister and Gabriele Pütz. In 2020, he became one of the four Managing Directors of Freiraum für alle GmbH. Alongside site planning, he also focuses on participation, competition management and is responsible for human resources issues.

Glenn Rauscher

Glenn studied landscape architecture at the Berlin University of Applied Sciences. Previously, he completed an apprenticeship as a gardener in horticulture and landscaping. He also supported a non-profit foundation in the maintenance of green spaces and garden monuments in Berlin. During his studies, Glenn gained practical experience through internships, for instance at the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district office in the area of street tree inspection.
Glenn has been part of gruppe F since 2023, where he supports the team in open space planning and with his CAD drawings.

Helen Stramm

Work focus: team assistance, project acquisition and application management.
Ina studied clothing technology in her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at the University of Applied Sciences (HTW) in Berlin. Her work focus was on sustainability in the process and supply chains of the apparel industry. After her studies, she completed a certification as a project management professional (GPM) according to IPMA Level D. Ina has several years of professional experience in project coordination and management of design and planning projects in the field of information design as well as exhibition design.
Ina has been part of gruppe F since 2022, where she supports the team in project acquisition and application management.

Jan Quandt

Work focus: GIS applications, participation, website
Jan has been studying the Master of Urban Ecology at the Technical University of Berlin since 2019. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science at the University of Oldenburg with a year abroad at Kingston University London, England. His courses included GIS applications and he wrote his thesis on object-based detection and differentiation of vegetation on satellite imagery. He did an internship at the Leibniz Centre for Tropical Marine Research (ZMT) in Bremen and apprenticed with a beekeeper.
Since 2020 Jan is part of gruppe F, where he supports the team in participation and landscape planning projects and maintains the website.

Jannis Schiefer

M. Sc. Landscape Architecture and Landscape Planning, B. Sc. Landscape Architecture and Landscape Planning
Work focus: Design, site planning, competitions
Jannis studied landscape architecture at the University of Kassel and one year at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna. After completing his master’s degree in urban river landscapes, he worked in a planning office for several years. In addition to site planning, Jannis is involved in conceptual and temporary projects, which won him the Peter Joseph Lenné Prize (2020) and recognition in the Schinkel Competition (2021). Also, he has been realising smaller projects in the context of ‘urban practice’ in Germany and other European countries, including the House of Materialisation in Berlin, where he was part of the exhibition contribution for the Architecture Biennale in Venice 2023.
Through his employment and freelance work in various planning offices in Berlin, Jannis was able to gain experience in work phases 1-5 HOAI, mainly in implementation planning.
Jannis has been part of gruppe F since 2023, where he supports the team in project planning and competitions.

Jiarui Zhang

Jiarui completed her master degree in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Kassel in 2014. She obtained her bachelor degree in the same programme in China. Now she is studying Landscape Architecture in the master programme at the Technical University of Berlin.
She has been working at gruppe F since March 2022 as a student assistant in the site planning team.

After her voluntary ecological year at an adventure playground, Johanna studied landscape architecture in Dresden. She completed her bachelor’s degree with a thesis on pollarded willows. She is currently completing her master’s degree in landscape architecture at the Technical University of Berlin.
Johanna gained practical experience at the Wangeliner Garten and the Saxon Ministry for Regional Development, among others. During her bachelor’s degree, she also supported the Chair of Landscape Planning as a student assistant.

Jule Klandt

Work focus: Climate adaptation, stormwater management, concepts
Jule studied Landscape Architecture and Planning at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and at the Technischen Universität München. She completed her dual Master’s degree in “Urban and Regional Planning – Urban Mobility” at the Technical University of Berlin and the Universidad de Universidad de Buenos Aires. In her final thesis, she dealt with the issue of fair use of space in streets and streetscapes. Universidad de Buenos Aires. In her final thesis, she dealt with the issue of fair use of space in street space.
During and after her studies, Jule worked in in landscape architecture offices and in urban planning. she gained experience in projects with a focus on participation and integrated urban planning.

Luzie Michaels

Work focus: Participation, concepts
Luzie is studying for a master’s degree in urban design at the Technical University of Berlin. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Scenography/Space Strategies at the Muthesius Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Kiel. During this time, she spent a semester abroad in Barcelona. In her final thesis, Luzie focussed on child-friendly learning spaces.
After completing her bachelor’s degree, she worked as a planner in an architecture firm. She also gained practical experience in participation and co-creation as a freelancer in an urban design office. Luzie is currently active in a local initiative that is committed to creating a self-managed neighbourhood and meeting place.
Luzie has been part of gruppe F since 2023, where she supports the team in participation and concepts.

Magdalena Sitek

Work focus: site planning
Magdalena was born in Poland and studied Landscape Architecture at the University of Natural Sciences in Wroclaw. During her master’s studies, she spent a semester in Italy at Bologna University. After graduating, Magdalena moved to Berlin in 2017. She completed a German course and a three-month internship as part of the Erasmus+ programme.
Magdalena joined the gruppe F site planning team in July 2018 as a full-time team member. Her focus is on site planning and working with AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

Maren Meier

Work focus: strategies and concepts, competition management
Maren studied landscape architecture in her master’s degree at the Technical University of Berlin. In her final thesis, she used the example of a gravel plant in Brandenburg to investigate how material flows in the construction sector affect rural and urban areas. She completed her bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture and environmental planning at Leibniz University in Hanover. As part of her studies, she spent a semester abroad at Edinburgh College of Art in Scotland.
Maren worked as an intern as well as a student assistant in different planning offices in Hannover, Düsseldorf and Berlin. She initially supported the gruppe F team as a student assistant and has been a team member since 2022.

Marie Hildebrandt

Work focus: competition management, concepts, participation, site planning
Marie studied Landscape Architecture at the Technical University in Berlin and completed her Master in Urban Design, also at the TU Berlin. She spent a semester abroad in Bordeaux, France. Her thesis explored the relevance of public open space in the context of the growing economic region of Berlin-Brandenburg, using the Tesla plant in Grünheide near Berlin as an example.
Marie gained practical experience in site planning and design through internships and working in various landscape architecture offices in Berlin and Lübeck. Since 2016 Marie has been part of the team of gruppe F and works on projects in competition management, object planning and participation procedures.

Marieke Koehn

Marieke studied Landscape Architecture at the Beuth University of Applied Sciences and did her master’s in Urban Planning at the HafenCity University Hamburg. She spent a semester abroad at the Universidad politécnica de Madrid, Spain and worked as a research assistant in the KLIMZUG-Nord project at HCU.
Marieke joined the gruppe F team in 2013 and is responsible for competition management, concepts, participation and climate adaptation.

Marina Trauernicht Jiménez

Work focus: Landscape planning, green infrastructure, participation
Marina studied her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences and specialised in environmental protection, participation, and climate adaptation concepts. In her bachelor’s thesis, Marina analysed the population and habitat conditions of wild bees in the Sandbachtal valley in Osnabrück. In collaboration with Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences and the Greater Braunschweig Regional Association, she also researched the possibilities and limits of participation processes at regional level to promote an integrated landscape approach.
Marina gained practical experience in landscape and urban planning offices, at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences as well as in the nature conservation association and the Black Forest National Park.
Marina has been part of gruppe F since 2023, where she supports the landscape planning team.

Marlene Degner

Marlene studied forest ecosystem management and geoinformatics with a focus on forests at the University for Sustainable Development in Eberswalde and at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences from 2016 to 2021. During her studies, she gained practical experience at the Hoge Veluwe National Park in the Netherlands in the fields of wildlife management and ecosystem mapping, as well as in project collaborations with the Helmholtz Zentrum Potsdam.

Martina gained her bachelor’s in Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning at Leibniz University Hanover. She then completed an internship at a landscape architecture office in Dresden. She took her master’s degree at the Technische Universität Berlin and finished her studies in 2015.
Since 2016, Martina has been working for gruppe F as a project manager for site planning. She mainly works on construction projects in relation to building construction and has a focus on the realisation of projects.

Monika studied both her Bachelor and Master in Geoecology at the University of Potsdam.
During her studies, Monika gained practical experience through internships at a start-up company focusing on sustainable agriculture and through laboratory work at the Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy and the GeoForschungsZentrum in Potsdam. She also completed an internship abroad in the field of sustainable nutrition in Nairobi, Kenya.

Monika studied Horticulture at Dresden University of Applied Sciences. During her studies, she was particularly interested in design aspects, which is why she dealt with the aesthetics of overgrown vegetation in her final thesis and switched to Landscape Architecture for her master degree at Leibniz University, Hanover.
In her master’s thesis, Monika dealt with the design of urban forests as a landscape architecture task. As a student and research assistant, she was involved with study and research projects.
Monika has been working for gruppe F since 2015 and is mainly responsible for creating urban planning concepts, landscape architectural designs and for supervising competition procedures.

Natacha Euloge

Work focus: team assistance, office management
Natacha studied South Asian History of Art and Sociology at the Freie Universität Berlin and Ancient South Asian History at the Humboldt University Berlin. During her studies, she published a sociological study on the external impact of the “Haus der Kulturen der Welt” cultural venue and in her final thesis she examined the pictorial programme of a Buddhist temple.
She is a trained typographer and has also a skilled user of WordPress and content management systems. Since 2020 she supports the gruppe F team as assistance and organises office workflows.

Nina has been studying landscape architecture and environmental planning at Leibniz Universität Hannover since 2017. During her studies, her interests in process-oriented planning, participation and living labs were consolidated. In her final thesis, she dealt with temporary interventions and carried out informal participation processes.
Nina is a trained organic farmer and worked in gardening and agricultural projects in the Netherlands, Germany and Egypt before her studies.

Sophie has been studying for a master’s degree in urban and Regional Planning at the Technical University of Berlin since the winter semester 2023, specialising in urban development/integrated urban development. She completed her bachelor’s degree in urban studies at the Bauhaus University Weimar. In her thesis, she analysed the connections between space and participation in the context of displacement.

Simon Malcher

Work focus: Environmental assessments, landscape planning, open space planning concepts
Simon studied landscape architecture at the Berlin University of Applied Sciences. He focused on the ecological and sustainable design of outdoor facilities as well as on the interface between urban planning and environmental factors. During his internship semester at the Stiftung Naturschutz Berlin, Simon dealt with the mapping of bats and other animal species. In doing so, he gained his first experience in the field of practical nature conservation. In addition, Simon completed an internship in a company with a focus on permaculture. In his final thesis, he investigated the possible implementation of a “green after-use” on selected Berlin cemeteries and outlined concepts for a sustainable design of these valuable areas.
After completing his bachelor’s degree, Simon gained practical experience in the field of environmental planning at a planning office, where he also continued to work as a student trainee.
Simon has been part of the gruppe F team since 2022 and is responsible for open space planning concepts and expert opinions in landscape planning.

Susanne Fungipani

Susanne studied Landscape Planning at the Technische Universität Berlin. During her studies, she also pursued her interest in the topics of human interaction and the relationship between people and their environment attending lectures and seminars on Philosophy, Art History and North American Studies. She completed internships at the NABU regional nature protection association in Berlin and at a landscape architecture office in Zaragoza, Spain. In her diploma thesis, she investigated the obstacles and opportunities of a European approach to landscape conservation using the example of the Republic of Ireland and she conducted various interviews with Irish experts. She worked for several years as a freelance environmental expert with a focus on renewable energy.
Susanne joined gruppe F in 2011 and has applied her extensive environmental expertise to various planning levels and procedures. These include ecological audits and assessments, impact prognoses and the development of measures. She also focuses on climate adaptation concepts, open space development and biotope and species protection.

Theresia Titzmann

Theresia studied Geography at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena and did her Master’s degree in Urban Studies at the Bauhaus University in Weimar. As part of her studies, she spent a semester abroad in Vienna. In her Master’s thesis, she dealt with the planning challenges of the city of Vienna in relation to climate change. In collaboration with experts from the fields of climate research, planning and architecture, she developed options and recommendations for dealing with urban heat, with the involvement of citizens.
She has been part of the gruppe F team since September 2022 and works on projects with a focus on participation, climate adaptation and open space concepts.

ThoMi Bauermeister

ThoMi Bauermeister studied Landscape Planning at the Technische Universität Berlin. In 1992 he founded landscape architect company, gruppe F together with Gabriele Putz and partners. Since 2020, he has been one of the four Managing Directors of gruppe F Freiraum für alle GmbH. He worked as a lecturer at the Beuth University of Applied Sciences and is a guest lecturer at the University of Kassel, University of Applied Sciences for Sustainable Development Eberswalde (HNEE), the School of Life Sciences at the Technische Universität München, the École nationale supérieure de paysage in Versailles and the University of Seoul.
He is a member of the German society for garden and landscape architecture (DGGL), the Federal Foundation of Baukultur and the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Chamber of Architects. He also judges landscape planning competitions.

Tom Jarling

Tom studied Ecology and Environmental Planning at the Technical University of Berlin for his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. In his master’s thesis, he analysed how Brandenburg’s wetland biotopes are affected by falling groundwater levels. Prior to this, he completed an apprenticeship as a construction mechanic.
Tom gained practical experience at the Brandenburg Nature Conservation Fund, where he supported renaturation projects for sandy grassland biotopes and wetland forests. He also worked with NABU on biotope maintenance. In addition, Tom deepened his knowledge of wild bee and lichen identification.
Tom has been part of gruppe F since 2022, where he supports the team in landscape planning.

Ulrike has many years of professional experience in the coordination, organisation, and implementation of events in the hotel and catering industry, where she worked as an event manager and project manager, among other things. She has furthered her education in business English and project management.
Before joining gruppe F, she was responsible for coordinating restaurant placements at the Berlin TV Tower. Ulrike is part of gruppe F since June 2022, where she supports the team in the Orga office.

Vanessa Reinfelder

Vanessa studied Environmental Sciences and International Development at the University of Vienna, Austria. After completing her bachelor’s degree, she switched to the Geoecology study programme at the University of Potsdam. During her studies, she spent several months participating in internships and research projects in South Africa and Morocco. In her final thesis, she dealt with possibilities of mitigating flash floods in the Atlas Mountains in Morocco based on hydrological modelling.
After her studies, she worked for several years as a research assistant for a nature conservation organisation, focusing on nature conservation and water body renaturation. Within the scope of a freelance project, she developed a GIS-based, database-supported stakeholder analysis tool, including the presentation of results as an online map.
Vanessa joined the gruppe F team in 2019 and works in the field of landscape planning and concepts.

Xenia Kokoula studied architecture at NTU Athens and Urban Design at ETH Zurich. She has worked in landscape architecture offices, focusing on open space planning in urban design concepts and competitions. As a research assistant in the Department of Landscape Architecture and Open Space Planning at TU Berlin, she has supervised design projects as well as methodological and theoretical seminars. She has published several articles in professional journals and contributed to the publication Urban Design Methods, published by Jovis Verlag 2020.

Yueqi Tao

Yueqi completed her master’s degree in landscape architecture at the Technical University of Berlin in 2023. In her thesis, she focused on the sustainable planning and design of semi-public green spaces in high-density residential areas – using the example of the Berlin suburbs. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental design at Jiangnan University in China.
After graduation, she worked as an intern at the Institute for Architectural Design of the Southeast China University and gained practical experience in work phases 2-5.
